Orson Scott Card sees no end of 'Ender' mania
In his appearance at the 2008 New York Comic Con, Orson Scott Card marveled over his new relationship with Marvel Comics before bringing fans up-to-date on the newest book in the Ender series, Ender In Exile (Tor; November, 2008) and pumped up the audience with the latest news about Ultimate Iron Man, Vol. 2 (Marvel Comics; October, 2008). Card then took questions from the audience about the Empire computer game, which triggered a riff on the state of the gaming world; the status of Master Alvin and various other series he has running over the last two decades; advice to writers on character, plot, and structure, pointing to Tolkien for instruction; his characterization of female forms; his analysis of Ender and typical adolescent character; the on-again, off-again, and now on-again (as of February, 2009) long-rumored Ender's Game movie; and what are his favorite TV shows, books, and movies.
